Barcelona Energia

Technological consultancy service for the adoption of the democratic participation platform Decidim, for the Barcelona Energia user assembly, to satisfy the management of their participatory processes. Web platform built with RoR (Ruby on Rails) with RWD design that allows it to adapt to different devices.

The web platform was installed on a Barcelona Energia server managed by CodiTramuntana.

CodiTramuntana has been part of the “tech team" of the open source platform Decidim. For this reason, it has the know-how to offer software consulting services for the platform adaptation.

The Decidim platform allows Barcelona Energia to manage, in a transparent manner, participatory processes and assemblies in collaboration with their clients (private customers, business customers, etc.).

The different participation spaces allow users and / or the administration itself to generate their proposals, which can subsequently be voted, debated or shared on social platforms. Once the voting results have been published, the platform thanks to the "tracking" functionality allows the users to follow its execution.

In addition, the platform allows users to answer surveys, participate in participatory budgets or select proposals based on a budget limit.

The modules and functionalities of the platform were adapted to respond to the needs of the participatory processes and the assemblies of Barcelona Energia. We made integrations with web analysis software, to obtain visitor statistics, and with geolocation and e-mail systems. Additionally, we carried out a verification system that validates the users with the organization database.

During the service, we proveided technical advice, software training course and updates to the latest versions of the platform.
