DECIDIM: online participation

From CodiTramuntana, we install, configure and customize the Decidim platform, a democratic tool of digital citizen participation and social entities self-organisation.

What is Decidim?

Decidim is a tool that facilitates the interconnection between citizenship, civil society and public institutions. At the same time, it also facilitates the coordination and organisation of entities and organizations of social interest. The ultimate objective is to democratise decision-making processes at all levels in order to empower people and to build a citizenship involved in all aspects of political and organisational life; create an active citizenship.

What can you do with Decide?

• Perform participatory budgets.
• Organise participation bodies: citizen councils, assemblies, commissions, etc.
• Do surveys and Consultations.
• Open discussion spaces.
• Promote the citizens to submit their proposals and vote for those of others.
• Call meetings (presential and online) and manage logs.
• Enabling a space for the presentation of citizens' Initiatives.

What benefits does it have?

Decdim have many features that can be combined with each other thanks to its modular structure, so that the platform allows for very diverse participatory processes to be developed and, at the same time, it makes it easier to move participatory figures to an online format, such as questioningspaces, working groups, citizen councils, etc.

Likewise, Decidim is in constant improvement and the platform is regularly updated, thus there are new features, or  improvements of existing funcionalities, in place to adapt to changes in our society.

The Decidim Community

The Decided platform is based on open source and free access, and has been developed thanks to the collaborative and disinterested work of entities and companies that are coordinated through the MetaDecidim Community. We are proud to be able to contribute to the draft decision and to have helped to make it grow from the beginning.

With this platform we have provided municipalities, organisations, cities and associations with a tool to ensure people's participation and transparency. In addition, in our work as developers, we have also helped to enlarge the platform by developing new modules that you can consult on this link.

What does CodiTramuntana offer?

CodiTramuntana offers a dual service: we provide technical support to set up Decidim, as well as to customize it or develop new functionality; we also provide a consultancy and formations service to help the people in charge of administering the platform familiarise themselves with it.
