Decidim Diputació de Barcelona
The Project
The Decidim participatory democracy platform is an open-source application developed to promote citizen participation in collective decision making. The main purpose of the platform is to integrate the off-line participatory dynamics into the online world, facilitating a broader and more transversal participation of citizens. In this way, the web application has different participation spaces (processes, consultations, participation bodies, initiatives, conferences) to facilitate the participation and transparency of the different democratic processes. Web platform built with RoR - Ruby on Rails - with RWD design that allows it to adapt to different devices (pc, tablet or mobile).
The administration of the Decidim platform has allowed the Diputación de Barcelona to have the new versions of the platform, as well as develop its evolutions.
The participation spaces of the platform allow participants and / or the administration to generate proposals, allowing their subsequent voting, debate and dissemination on social platforms. Once the results of the proposal have been published, the platform thanks to the “follow-up” functionality allows the community to follow its execution.
Additionally, the web platform add-ons allow users to answer surveys, participate in meetings, participate in participatory budgets or select several proposals based on a pre-established budget.
During the service, technical advice and face-to-face training has been offered to the administrators of the platform.
