Smart Cushion App
The Project
The OKM company produces a smart cushion (Nubolo) for the prevention of pressure ulcers. The smart cushion allows to regulate the pressure of the different zones of the cushion, using a manual pump controlled by an electronic device, avoiding possible dangerous overpressures. The electronic device follows the indications of 3 different operating programs designed according to the needs of the user.
The objective of the project consisted in achieving the correct interaction of the mobile App with the device so that users can manage the use of the smart cushion. In this way, the application allows controlling via Bluetooth the different functionalities of the smart cushion. The application server has been developed in Ruby on Rails (RoR).
The Client
Company specialized in technical solutions for orthopedics. The company was born in 2000 and, currently, exports to more than 50 countries its specialized products in custom orthopedics and continues to develop materials for the manufacture of orthoses, prostheses and custom postural seats with the aim of improving the quality of life for the end user.
